Summary: Fruits Basket is a shojo (aimed for a female audience) manga created by Natsuki Takaya. The story's main character is a high school student named Tohru Honda. She became an orphan when her mother was killed in a car accident. So she lives with her grandfather. But soon his family moves in, and the house is being remodelled. Torhu decides to live in a tent. She gets a job to support herself, so she doesn't have to impose on her friends. Throughout all the hardships, she still manages to remain positive and optimistic. The ares where Tohru is living in the woods is Sohma property. Tohru begs to stay, and even says she'll pay rent. Her tent is later buried in a landslide. She moves in with the Sohma family, the only thing is she has to do the cooking and housework. Tohru soons discovers the Sohma's family secret. The manga revolves around the lives of Torhu and the Sohma family, and how they live with each other.
